Join the club and meet friends for life

APRIL 11, 2021

We sincerely regret that due to present dangerous ash fall-out conditions, and following directives from the Government, the Barbados Cruising Club and the beach will be CLOSED until further notice. This applies to all the Club services and the Dippers bar and restaurant. We hope that this closure will not last too long and will inform as soon as the situation improves. In the meantime we wish you all the very best as you deal with these difficult times. We know that Bajan resilience will one again pull us all through. Stay safe.

Annual Barbados Sailing Week

In January on Errol Barrow Day

The first organised race around Barbados was held on January 1st 1936 when 5 trading schooners competed for ‘bragging rights’ and a small prize. The winner was Lou Kennedy’s Sea Fox in a time of 10 hours and 20 minutes. We wonder what Lou Kennedy would make of the latest multihull boats time of 2 hours, 37 minutes, 38 seconds!

You can’t cross the sea, merely by standing and staring at the water.
